Supply Chain Manager

Our Supply Chain Manager will be joining the team just as we prepare to go to market on our first products. We’re trying to keep our Product Team lean during our ramp-up period, so the Supply Chain Manager will need to be a bit of a jack-or-jill-of-all-trades. This role will initially include overseeing supply chain issues, logistics, inventory managing, and aspects of distribution. As we grow, there’s ample opportunity to specialize in the areas that the employee is most drawn to as we build out our additional hiring. Because this exciting opportunity requires wearing a lot of hats, it requires a creative, outside-the-box problem solver who isn’t daunted by a challenge. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform all procurement activities including the selection and development of the supplier base. Solicit supplier quotations and evaluate bids for both raw materials and finished goods

  • Review and evaluate the performance of approved vendors to ensure compliance and to ensure they are providing the promised level of service

  • Coordinate and track the arrival of all materials. Help build out inspection and quality control measures

  • Create SOPs for department

  • Lead all aspects of product supply (demand planning, production planning, and inventory management) to ensure the business needs are met and growth is enabled

  • Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, and finance

  • Actively lead and/or participate in the implementation of all software systems that relate to the Supply Chain

  • Work with our Finance Team to facilitate timely invoicing

  • Develop and manage our logistics strategy

  • Build-out and maintain our relationship with transportation carriers – this will be especially important as transporting legal cannabis goods will require an extra level of care and security

  • Ensure that all production activities comply with SOP’s, GMP, and Health and Safety requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years experience in Supply Chain/Order Management/Logistics/Inventory Planning

  • Strong knowledge of beverage or cannabis manufacturing processes

  • Knowledge/network of different carriers in Canada and/or North America

  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills

  • Understanding of the laws and regulations surrounding cannabis is a huge plus

  • Experience creating and reviewing SOPs and other technical documents

  • Working knowledge of SmartSheet or other similar project management software is a bonus 

  • Experience working with and onboarding an ERP/MRP system for an organization is desirable 

  • Strong leadership, analytical and team building skills

  • Knowledge of QA/QC techniques for inbound and outbound materials 

  • Experience managing and coordinating with co-packers/co-manufacturers

  • Must be extraordinarily attentive to detail

  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to handle many situations simultaneously in a professional and courteous manner in a fast-paced environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional designation in Supply Chain or Operations is highly desired
