Team Member Spotlight / Carte Blanche December 8, 2017
My name is Ella Finkler. I'm a native of Toronto but spent a good portion of my youth in Chicago. I am a driven, metropolitan person, happy to thrive under the pressures of a large diverse company. I studied English at the University of Toronto. During my studies I began to work in experiential marketing and promotions and have now worked for numerous elite level promotion companies catering to several Fortune 500 corporations (Coca Cola, McDonalds, Unilever etc), as well as countless startups and independent companies. I have also maintained an entrepreneurial spirit by running two small businesses along side of my marketing work; one an online vintage clothing shop selling to customers internationally and the other a fun floral art decor brand called Junction Circus.
Starting in 2015, I began working at brick and mortar dispensaries, most notably Green Room and 1066. Green Room is known as one of the first recreational dispensaries in Toronto. 1066 is the flagship store for Alair Vaporizers and part of the Quintet Ventures family. At Green Room I held a customer service position where I was able to interact with all kinds of customers and see first hand the impact that a positive and vibrant cannabis culture had on the community. In addition, I liaised between their three locations and helped maintain organization and communication for the chain. At that time I decided that a career in cannabis was something that I very much wanted to explore. I left Green Room when presented with an opportunity to work for 1066, a unique store in the west end of the city. That lead to an opportunity to work at events like Lift Expo and the Karma Cup as a Brand Representative. Being able to combine my experience in cannabis with my experience in marketing was very rewarding. Most recently I have had the privilege of working for Province Brands as an intern. I have been working with them for about a month now and it has already been a wonderful experience.
It is an exciting time for the company and for Canada as a whole. I look forward to seeing what the future has to offer.
