Province Brands of Canada Announces Partnership to Produce Cannabis-Powered Craft Beer with Bell City Brewing Co.

TORONTO, Dec. 4, 2018 /CNW/ - Province Brands of Canada — the Canadian company developing the world's first beers brewed from the cannabis plant — today announced a partnership with Bell City Brewing of Brantford, Ontario to produce craft cannabis beer for Bell City Brewing Company.

"We enjoy pushing the boundaries of beer flavours, and we're doing it again. Just like our pre-prohibition Eureka Cream Ale and our gold medal-winning Habanero Chill Pepper Lager. Partnering with Province Brands on a cannabis beer is truly a new horizon and we are excited to work with them," said Dennis Marijan, co-owner of Bell City Brewing.

The agreement will allow Bell City Brewing to license Province Brands of Canada's patent-pending technologies (that mash and ferment cannabis and enable the creation of the world's first beers brewed from cannabis instead of barley) to create several product lines of non-alcoholic cannabis-brewed beer and beer infused with cannabis oil. This process will happen in Province Brands' 123,000 square foot facility in Grimsby, Ontario (currently under construction) once the manufacture and sale of such products are legalized in Canada.

Bell City Brewing is currently working on beer style concepts with its Master Brewer, Muthu Sakthivel, M.Sc., Dipl. Brew (UK), the Province Brands of Canada technical team and Province Brands' Master Brewer, Rob Kevwitch, PhD.

"Bell City Brewing has always been true to the craft beer culture. They're experimental and aren't afraid to be different, so it's very fitting that we'll come together to produce some of the world's first cannabis-powered craft beers," said Dooma Wendschuh, CEO and Co-Founder of Province Brands.

Beers brewed from the cannabis plant will intoxicate using THC and other phytocannabinoids instead of alcohol. Since there is no barley in beers brewed from the cannabis plant, the beer will be gluten-free and low in calories and sugar.

About Province Brands of Canada
Province Brands of Canada is an early stage, highly disruptive premium adult beverage company founded by veteran entrepreneurs with extensive experience in the premium alcohol and legal medical and recreational cannabis industries. Province Brands' patent-pending process has created the world's first beers brewed from cannabis while utilizing parts of the cannabis plant which would otherwise have no commercial value. Alcohol-free yet intoxicating, Province Brands' cannabis-powered beers will challenge the alcohol industry by offering a safer and healthier alternative that is also gluten-free and low in calories and sugar. Recently, Province Brands of Canada announced they are expanding their planned product portfolio beyond alcohol-free beers with the pending launch of Cambridge Bay Imperial Pilsner, a first-of-its-kind, 7% ABV imperial pilsner brewed from hemp in place of barley which can be sold anywhere alcohol is legally sold. Cambridge Bay Imperial Pilsner will be launched first in the Yukon in early 2019 with plans to be sold throughout Canada soon.
